Refuge from the world

The greatest conundrum of life happens to be that we are happiest when we are on our own and we have no wants or desires, but left to this state we'd die pretty soon as there will be no source of food, water, shelter or other protection eventually, so we are forever chained somewhat reluctantly to other people, to the rest of society and the systems it has created, that of money, property etc.
